Features, allowance, and supported files

These are the conditions for the current version. Check the file type before uploading, then review the text, tables, and layout after downloading.

Product and website
LightDoc, available at https://pdfwd.com, converts PDF to Word online with a text preview and complete DOCX downloads.
Supported input
PDF files with extractable text. Try selecting a passage in a PDF reader and copying it into a text editor to check that the text is readable.
Output format
Word (DOCX) files, editable in word processors that support DOCX.
Free allowance
After registering and verifying your email, each account can convert and download one file per day for free, up to 20 pages and 10 MB. Unused daily allowance does not roll over.
Result preview
The page shows a partial text preview. Download the DOCX and compare it with the original PDF to check images, table structure, and the full layout.
Scans and OCR
OCR is not currently available, so image-only scans and PDFs made from photos are not supported. Even if a file has a text layer, check that its text can be extracted correctly.
Complex layouts
Tables, merged cells, columns, special fonts, and page breaks may change. Exact reproduction of the original layout is not guaranteed.
Paid purchases
Single conversions, monthly plans, and annual plans can be purchased with Alipay. Each is a one-time purchase with no automatic renewal. See the pricing page for current prices and available payment methods.

How do I start converting?

  1. Open the PDF in a reader and check that its text can be selected and copied. Check its page count and file size, too.
  2. Register with LightDoc, verify your email, and sign in. Select your PDF, upload it, and wait for conversion.
  3. Review the text preview, then download the complete DOCX. Open it in Word or another compatible app and compare it with the original PDF.

For image-only scans, obtain a text-based version or process the file with an OCR tool first. Check important numbers, dates, table rows and columns, and page breaks individually.
